How Do I Activate a Replacement Card at capitalone.com/activate?

Activating a replacement Capital One card is almost the same as activating a new card. When your replacement card arrives, you can activate it online, through the Capital One Mobile app, or by phone. You may need the 3-digit security code from the back of the card to complete activation.

• Open your browser and go to capitalone.com/activate.
• Select Sign in & activate if you already have a Capital One online account.
• If you do not have online access, choose Enroll & activate and follow the prompts.
• Sign in with your Capital One username and password.
• Choose the replacement card you want to activate.
• Enter the required card details, including the 3-digit security code if asked.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to finish activation.

Once your replacement card is activated, update your saved payment details for subscriptions, bills, and recurring purchases. Capital One also recommends securely disposing of your old card after activation. Plastic cards should be cut through the chip and magnetic strip, while metal cards should not be cut.
